Privacy Policy

Effective & last updated: October 6, 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what this website collects and why. We wrote it to be short and honest rather than long and vague.

The short version

This site does not track visitors. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no social-media widgets, no embedded video or maps, and makes no requests to any third-party service when you load a page. The only information collected is what you choose to type into the message form.

What this site collects

If you use the message form, the server receives the email address and message you type. That is everything collected. This site does not use cookies or similar tracking technology, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, does not build visitor profiles, and does not buy, sell, or share personal information with anyone.

What happens behind the scenes

In the spirit of being honest, here is every technical detail that touches your visit:

  • Message form protection. To stop spam bots, the form uses a one-time code created when the page loads (not a cookie, and nothing stored in your browser). When a message is sent, the server briefly keeps a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and the time, to limit how many messages come from one place. This is never used to identify or track you and is deleted automatically after about two days.
  • Where messages go. Messages from the form are delivered by email to hello@rivertownca.com, an address hosted by Google (Gmail).
  • Web hosting. The hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site running. These are not used to track visitors and are not analyzed.
  • Fonts. This site uses your device’s own system fonts. No font files are requested from any outside service.

How long information is kept

Messages sent through the form are kept in the recipient’s email inbox for as long as reasonably needed. The anti-spam bookkeeping described above is deleted automatically after about two days.

Your rights as a California resident

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information is held about you, request its deletion, request correction of inaccurate information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. “Selling” or “sharing” personal information is moot here, since this site does not do either. To exercise any of these rights, send a message through the form and it will be handled directly.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles information changes, this page and the date at the top will be updated. Since visitors are not tracked, there is no way to notify anyone individually — check back if curious.
